  1. Question: "What's the best way to stay motivated when working on long-term projects?"

Answer: "One strategy that has always worked wonders for me is setting small, achievable goals along the way. It reminds me of a time when I was working on my undergraduate thesis. I remember feeling overwhelmed by the sheer scope of the project. However, instead of focusing solely on the end result, I decided to break it down into smaller milestones. Each week, I aimed to complete a section or conduct a certain amount of research. Whenever I achieved one of these mini-goals, whether it was finishing a chapter or gathering data, I celebrated it as a small victory. It not only kept me motivated but also gave me a sense of progress, which was incredibly rewarding."

  2. Question: "How do you handle difficult conversations with coworkers?"

Answer: "When it comes to difficult conversations at work, I've found that honesty paired with empathy goes a long way. There was a time when I had to address a conflict with a colleague that had been brewing for some time. I vividly remember feeling nervous about broaching the subject, but I knew it needed to be addressed for the sake of our working relationship. So, I scheduled a one-on-one meeting and calmly explained my perspective, being careful to use 'I' statements to avoid sounding accusatory. What surprised me was how my colleague responded. Instead of becoming defensive, they opened up about their own concerns and frustrations. By listening actively and showing genuine empathy towards their perspective, we were able to find common ground and work towards a resolution together. It was a turning point in our relationship, and I learned the power of approaching difficult conversations with sincerity and understanding."

  3. Question: "What's your secret to maintaining a healthy work-life balance?"

Answer: "For me, maintaining a healthy work-life balance boils down to setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care. I remember a time in my career when I was so consumed by work that I neglected my own well-being. It wasn't until I experienced burnout that I realized something needed to change. So, I made a conscious effort to establish boundaries between work and personal life. One thing that really helped was creating a shutdown ritual at the end of each workday. Whether it was going for a walk, practicing meditation, or simply disconnecting from technology, having that transition period allowed me to mentally switch gears and unwind. Additionally, I started scheduling time for activities that brought me joy outside of work, whether it was spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or simply relaxing. By prioritizing self-care and making time for the things that mattered most to me, I found that I was not only happier and healthier but also more productive when I was on the clock."
